Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he has spoken with Liverpool’s new CEO of soccer Michael Edwards and admitted his delight to see their former sporting director return to the membership.
It was a busy day at Anfield on Tuesday, with information breaking that the Merseyside membership had agreed a deal to re-appoint former sporting director Edwards underneath the function of CEO of soccer on the membership’s homeowners Fenway Sports activities Group (FSG).
Edwards, who had beforehand spent 11 years at Anfield between 2011 and 2022, will now oversee every day operations of the Premier League membership and is about to nominate sporting director Richard Hughes as his first job.
On Wednesday, Klopp spoke of his happines at Edwards’ return opening up on his working relationship with the previous technical director.
‘Michael and I all the time had a very good relationship on an expert foundation. Now he is again, I am actually glad,’ Klopp mentioned.

Edwards agreed his return to the membership on Monday after receiving reassurances from FSG bosses over his place on the membership.
